Shipping Racks Move Your Warehouse Products

Every business ships SOMETHING, and every business knows the headaches this means.  Putting your product on a truck and pointing them toward the customer isn’t the way anymore.  You need to coordinate the trip, making sure that the items going will be safe, and secure for the trip, as well as easy to remove from the truck and move into the warehouse.  This can be a real pain if the truck or train isn’t packed properly and everything shifts in transit.

We have a solution.  The Tier-Rack Shipping Rack is designed from the ground up to deliver your goods to their destination in one piece, with a simple extraction method once they arrive.  You can even set the shipment up to leave the product on the shipping racks in the warehouse, letting your company utilize the racks for your storage needs going forward, or repurpose them to move more products!

We can design racks to span the width of a trailer often called Truck Decking, or racks to hold individual pallet loads sitting side by side like automotive racks.  Often these shipping racks or shipping containers are designed with sides that can fold down. This allows empty racks to be stacked more densely for lower freight costs on the return trip. This also prevents the rack posts from being misplaced in shipment. Whether your products are light and fragile or heavy and awkward to handle, we have the experience to help you move your parts safely.Past applications include the following:

Transmissions Hoods Catalytic converters Side panels Glass Palletized and boxed items

Let us show you how our years of manufacturing experience can provide you with quality shipping racks, truck decking and returnable racks at a very affordable price. We buy steel tubing directly from the tube mills in truckload quantities. Then our talented and efficient teams in our low overhead production facilities transform the steel tubing into high-quality portable racks that have been designed to meet your needs. Give us a chance to prove to you then nobody does it better than Tier-Rack! Whether you need 100,000 racks or 10 racks, Tier-Rack is your best choice for stacking shipping racks, storage bins, utility racks, and shipping containers.

Everyone wants to know how they can build better customer service for their business.  Better customer service leads to more sales and higher profits.  One sure way to improve your customer service is through a better warehouse layout.  Don’t believe me?  Let’s look at how.

Smarter communications – Keeping a line of communications between your warehouse, the front of the house, and the customer is vital.  Having an organized warehouse that communicates clearly and efficiently with the other components of the company builds customer goodwill and support.  Keeping your warehouse organized helps accomplish this.

Constant change – Every industry changes day-to-day.  It’s a fact of business.  Warehouse management has to change with it.  Whether it’s new products, a change in focus, overstock from unsold products, or other issues, every day in a warehouse can change drastically.  Knowing this, having an organized, mobile warehouse can help weather these storms.  Stack Racks can help rebuild the warehouse on the fly, and keep your product flowing.  This keeps customers happy.

Product on the move – Everyone wants their product faster and faster.  With next-day delivery on the menu for many companies, shipping quickly is the name of the game.  Having an organized warehouse keeps your product moving in and out of the door, whether it goes to a customer or between your warehouses.

Smarter management – A clean, organized warehouse gives you the advantage of knowing what stock you have, where, and how much of it.  You can be assured that whatever you sell, you’ll be able to get out to people.  Finding your tock should never be a surprise.  The better organized you are, the better all of the above reasons work to keep your warehouse profitable.

Winter Tire Storage on Tire Racks

Storing winter tires can be a frustrating task.  How can you keep these rugged tires in great shape in your warehouse and keep the stock fresh, but available?  Luckily Tier-Rack has just the rack for you.  Our tire racks are designed to hold tires long-term in a manner in which they will not warp or deform.

Choose the style of tire rack that works best in your operation. Add perforated deck that meets fire codes by allowing water from overhead sprinklers to pass through to the stack racks below and protect the side walls. The ratio of holes to solid deck gives good support to the tires and will not leave marks on the tires in the portable rack.

Another style of stacking rack uses wire mesh decking. This decking is less expensive than perforated metal decking and has larger openings in the deck. This is a good option if your tires are in and out of your warehouse rack frequently and the wire deck doesn't have time to leave marks on your product. Naturally, the least expensive portable stack rack for tires has no decking at all. The inner and outer rack beams are located so they support the tires. This works best if you do not have people standing on the rack as they load or unload the tires, since the rack beams do not provide as secure a work surface as a deck does.

Our center post Tier-Rack® tire stacking frame is a popular alternative for those who appreciate the ease of loading and unloading tires when there are no obstructions on the corners of the stack racks. These tire racks are also the least expensive storage solution for tires available. The frames easily attach to your existing warehouse pallets and will hold loads of 2,000 pounds per pallet when the racks are stacked five high.

If you need shipping containers for tires, we make a folding rack for the economical return of the empty racks. Since the posts are not removed from the rack, there is no concern about losing some posts during the return trip. As with all of our varieties of tire racks, these can be made for any size and load capacity that you need. These shipping racks can be designed with or without decking to meet your needs.  They are strong enough to withstand years of use and material handling.  The tire and rack combination is what all tire distributors must have to store tires effectively

Getting the Right Used Stack Rack

When making a major purchase, you want to trust the supplier you buy from. If you buy a TV, you want to know you will get the Sony you paid for, not a box with a raccoon in it.  Creating this trust in business to business sales is a little different. Tier-Rack Corporation, for example, has created this trust in their Stack Rack system by being accountable for their products.

Tier-Rack sales people are the first people you talk to when you call to order, and the last people you speak to after you place your order.  For example, when you purchase a tire rack from Tier-Rack, the sales team takes your order, the in house engineering team designs your rack, the United States-based manufacturing warehouse fabricates the rack, and it's delivered to you.  Tier-Rack's sales team also follows with you every step - including helping to deal with inspectors and regulators if necessary.

However, not every company follows these guidelines.  There are horror stories about companies receiving 16 gauge racks instead of the 14 gauge that they have ordered.  How can you determine that you've gotten what you've paid for?  The only way to be sure, and this is with any rack company, is to weigh.  Ask your supplier what the weight should be on these racks, and weigh them when they arrive.  Don't take delivery on racks that come in too light, as that means that the supplier has skimped on the metal, and delivered you an inferior product.  Many racks, particularly those manufactured outside of the US, suffer from lighter gauge tubing and inferior manufacturing, and will not hold up over the long run.

Tier-Rack Corporation has been a leader in rack solutions and flexible warehouse racking systems for almost sixty years. The original Tier-RackR pallet stacking frame converts regular warehouse pallets into sturdy storage racks in seconds without screws or bolts. And the Load-NesterR all-steel storage rack features light and heavy duty models of solid all-welded, knock-down, or nestable designs for all your material handling needs. Our portable stacking racks and rack systems are designed to handle and store even the most fragile, odd-shaped, and awkward merchandise. They can be designed to transport two loads at a time. Our stack racks reduce handling time, stack up to six high, and they are capable of supporting thousands of

pounds per unit load. All Tier-Rack racks are engineered with a "2-to-1" safety factor to ensure the racks will perform safely and last for decades. For more information, visit http://tier-rack.com today.

Save Space With Nesting Racks

A Nesting Rack used in your warehouse saves space for you.  It's a rack that works as both a Movable Rack and a nestable one - it helps out in bulk storage and is often used for bulk bag storage in warehouses.  If you need to store assets in this way, the Nesting Rack is the way to go.

Sometimes these racks are called a nestainer, jarke cupl-up, nestrack, nesting bin, nestable pallet, or nestable pallets. They can hold heavy loads (they are typically stacked in columns of 4 or 5 racks, with each rack holding 2,000 to 4,000 pounds). Empty racks and bins can be "nested" - one rack set inside another rack - up to 6 or 7 at a time. They are a storage system that saves time because the empty racks can be nested by one forklift operator. A bundle of nested bins occupies less space than empty standard heavy duty pallet rack. The rear posts act as stops for your loads, so your forklift operator does not have to guess how far into the nestable pallet the load should go. Many sizes and load capacities are available for Tier-Rack nesting racks.

If you are in the market for a nestable rack that can stack and save space while storing bulk items, the Nesting Rack is the product that will serve you best in your warehouse.  Don't spend another day precariously stacking other racks or leaving bulk bags sitting around your warehouse.  Get organized and save space with Nesting Racks from Tier-Rack.

Stack Racks Order Your Warehouse

When a warehouse runs correctly, it manages three tasks well.  A warehouse is designed to operate as an extension of the business.  The health of the company is built on the back of these 3 principles of warehouse operation:

Move products Know what you have Keep the place in order

Move Products

Your warehouse exists primarily to facilitate products moving in and out of your inventory.  It needs to get your products from place to place, at its core.  When your sales team makes sales, you have to be able to fulfill orders, or you won’t sell anything else.  There’s a direct connection between the ability to move products and profitability.

Know What You Have

A solid warehouse keeps products in the right place and knows what they have.  Making sure that your products are at the front of the shelves and out of the way is hugely important to the long-term health of your shop.  This has multiple uses, from knowing what NOT to sell when you’re short, to make sure that you move products that you have overstock on when that time comes.  Knowing your stock makes all the difference.

Use Bins In Your Warehouse For Small Items

If your warehouse stores lots of different types of materials, including bulk items, grains, small assorted items or anything like that, you know that storing them can be a real issue.  Finding a way to keep all of your items stored, secured, and separate are among the major headaches that warehouse managers have to suffer through.

Once you’ve determined your needs, you can find a solution with Tier-Rack.  We have both bins and bags that will keep your warehouse organized and operating at a peak level.  Our bins and bags are very portable, and will let you store every type of material that you need.

This helps increase storage density and efficiency, and lets you separate your items to where you save time searching for things in the warehouse.

Bins are also great for shipping.  Our shipping bins let you remove the headache from shipping small boxes of material, especially from your own warehouses to each other.  Never pack a new box when you already have a bin packed.  Ship in your Tier-Rack bin – they’re durable enough to be handled with a forklift and stand up to the rigors of travel.

Our bags are terrific for storing anything small that needs to be ported.  They’re ideal to use in a warehouse sorting grains or small tools, or anything that pours (and makes a mess when it spills!)  We sell bulk bag racks that keep these bags upright and make them extremely portable and safe to use.
