Production Racks by Tier-Rack – an industry leader for 50 years!
Manufacturers are always looking for ways to lower the cost of running their operation. Many have found that the Tier-Rack® portable stacking rack contributes to a more efficient and safer work place. One use for these stack racks in the manufacturing operation involves loading incoming raw materials directly on to the Tier-Rack® base unit. The portable racks then can be moved with a forklift truck and either placed in the material storage area or carried directly to the production line. Completed products can be placed on the rack and carried to the finished goods warehouse or directly to the shipping dock.
If either the raw materials that you use in your production process or your finished products are hard to stack, you will find that you can get much more product stored in the same area using the stacking racks to store full loads in a vertical stack. This is particularly helpful with irregularly shaped items that will not stack on top of each other, or items that would be damaged if another unit was placed on top of it.
If you have products of varying dimensions, or if you have need to store partial loads of products, portable stacking racks can provide a denser storage solution. Just as we can provide racks of many different sizes, we can also provide posts of different heights. So if your standard product is 48” high, but you sometimes have partial loads that are 24” high, we can supply you with some posts that are tall enough for the 24” loads. This will reduce the chance that you will have a lot of partially filled racks in your storage areas.
Many customers use our stack racks in place of a wood pallet. This is because the portable racks can support product just as a pallet does, and also stack on top of each other while keeping the product secure and free from damage. Depending on the products you will store in the stack racks, we can supply racks with plywood, metal, expanded metal and wire mesh decks.
